OUR WORK - ENVIRONMENT & ENERGY
MORE ABOUT ENVIRONMENT & ENERGY
Malawi has been facing various environment and energy challenges including a high rate of deforestation, increasing floods, etc. This is because more than 90% of the country's population practice subsistence agriculture and is dependent on wood fuel for its energy supply. UNDP is therefore working with the government of Malawi and other developing partners to ensure that the country benefits from the effective management of environment, natural resources, climate change and disaster risk reduction.
