Report summary

In 2012, UNDP supported Malawi’s efforts towards deepening democracy, developing the capacity of key national institutions, addressing emerging issues such as climate change and disaster management, and mainstreaming issues such as gender and HIV/ AIDs that cut across several development priorities. As the first year of a new programme cycle (2012- 2016), 2012 also saw the completion of significant groundwork that will contribute to programmatic change in coming years. The total programme resources were $19.3 million, of which $8.4 million was from core resources and $10.9 million was from non-core resources.
